Since the end of 1970s， American sculptor Jonathan Borofsky began to create a sort of silhouette sculptures， those works own the strong pictorial features and just like the black and white paintings， his sculptural language contains the style of relief， there is a kind of subtle and fluctuant three-dimensional effect as well as texture existed on the surface of his works， therefore， his modeling language of silhouette sculptures own the strong expressive effects. The behavior and intention of his artistic experiments contain apparent notions. Mentally， his sculpture subverts the style of traditional sculpture， his works expand the contemporary art language and redefine the sculptural forms. As time goes by， Borofsky had already created a series of huge and mature silhouette sculptures.
